Web App Developer

Job Summary/ Purpose:

The Web AppDeveloper is the architect and creator of well-designed, documented, and tested web applications, software features and services that meet internal and customer product requirements. The Web App Developer’s main responsibility is the translation and realization of MSD products and services into the cloud environment including conceptualization, performing rapid prototyping to determine feasibility, risk evaluation and then the implementation of well-thought-out software in a cloud environment.

Primary Job Functions:
  1. Delivering software code that is built to scope and within the agreed upon goals.
  2. Designing, developing, implementing and maintaining web applications based on the selected cloud platform(s).
  3. Deploying and configuring web application with requisite server deployment tools.
  4. Debugging and troubleshooting software defects using requisite debugging tools.
  5. Creating and maintaining code documentation.
  6. Participating in the review of business requirements and functional specifications providing analysis and feedback
  7. Responsibility for the technical quality of the features delivered, including documentation, testing strategies, and coding.
  8. Identifies and addresses product bugs, deficiencies and performance bottlenecks
  9. Leverages technical knowledge to improve the quality and efficiency of product applications and tools
  10. Embrace, promote and implement Agile development framework and methodologies (SAFe, SCRUM, Kanban, etc.).
  11. Embrace and institute best practices and coding standards (e.g. code reviews, logging and instrumentation, static/dynamic code analysis, code coverage, unit, integration tests) within the team.
  12. Collaborate with Product Managers, Customer Advocates, Marketing, to understand requirements for software development
  13. Compose and maintain detailed design specifications and component documents.
  14. Design alongside a team of engineers focusing on incorporating and translating different end-user personas and roles into application design and usability.
  15. Implement front-end and back-end business logic for new features (Full Stack development).
Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree or equivalent in a technical field preferred, with at least five years of directly related work experience. Equivalent experience may be substituted for formal education
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in application development involving C#, .NET Web API, NoSQL
  • Knowledge on .NET CORE, .NET MVC
  • 5+ years of developing web-based software with object-oriented languages
  • Demonstrable experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), potential problems in application development and deployment and how to mitigate against them.
  • Extensive knowledge about and programming experience with APIs including design of RESTful services and integration with data providers
  • Extensive knowledge of programming constructs, data structures, algorithms and scripting languages/framework.
  • Experience with different databases, including working knowledge of SQL, relational data stores.
  • Experience with Windows systems and the best practices for deploying applications to those stacks.
